You might have a stack of old CDs at home which you are no longer using. In the advent of technology, it is more convenient to use handy gadgets which could store and play music rather than CDs. But, it would be a waste to just throw them all away.
If you have no idea on how you could dispose them, try these new ways on how old CDs can be reused.
Create a Mural
Choose a good image that you would like to have in the mural. Print that image in a larger size. Prepare several CD jewel cases. The number of CD case you will need will depend on the size of the printed photo. Cut it down so that it would fit inside the CD case. Hang or stick it on the wall.
Use It Make Your Very Own Bike Reflector
Select any CD from your collection. Attach the selected CD underneath your bike seat. Fasten it using a cable tie.
Use It to Design Your Shoes
Prepare a few pieces of CDs. Break it carefully into smaller pieces. Stick it into your shoes like disco tiles. This would be a great idea to make any plain, boring pair of shoes more fashionable.
Use it as a Dumbbell (For those with tons of CDs)
Get a thin metal rod and thread the discs onto both ends. Secure them well using bolts. If you wanted to have a more comfortable grip, you can tape up the middle part of the rod.
This is such a great idea to reuse your old CDs – especially to fitness enthusiasts.
Make a Lamp Out of It
Prepare a lamp holder first. Make sure you have some electric wire, switch, plug and a light bulb. Secure the CDs in a lamp holder. You could drill a hole in it and fasten it up using iron wire. Pile it up in any design you would like. Once you are done, make sure you cut out any excess iron wires or whatever you’ve used to secure the CDs together. And, there you have it! You now have a new lamp.
Those are just a few ideas on how those old CDs can be reused. You can now put your CD collection to use rather than just throwing it in the trash.
